Canoe Colorado River Moab, UT with our Dog, Daisy
We canoed with our dog on the Colorado River in Moab Utah. We put the canoe onto the Colorado River at the paved boat, off Route 191, near route 128. We put loaded our gear into the canoe. Then Daisy hopped into the canoe. Daisy Dog was excited to canoe the Colorado River in Moab with us. We got in and pushed off. Daisy chose to first ride in the bow, and look for places to stop to splash. We set off on our 17 mile journey, looking forward to the scenery, and floating down river. |

We paddled several miles on the Colorado River before we stopped our canoe at a tiny secluded beach, to let Daisy Dog out to play on a sandbar in the Colorado River in Moab.
The scenery is amazingly gorgeous in Moab. The colors are fabulous.
We had many more miles of the Colorado River to canoe with our dog, through Moab so we needed to keep moving.
We got back into our canoe with Daisy Dog, and paddled several miles more to a a gravel boat launch that had picnic tables, along Route 279, and ate our lunches. We were more than half way through our 17 mile canoe trip through Moab with our dog.
Daisy chose the middle of the canoe for the rest of her ride down the Colorado River in Moab. We found a bit of shade along the cayon wall early in the morning
We launched our canoe and continued down river past amazing views of Moab, Utah.
We enjoyed relaxing in the quiet. We had beautiful weather.
We found another small sand bar, to stop across from the Potash Mine. Let Daisy stretch her legs a little and paddled the last beautiul mile to the boat launch where we took the canoe out and waited for the outfitters to arrive.
There are many other rivers and outfitters through out the country that will allow dogs in their canoes. If you need to rent a canoe. This is also a very gentle paddle for a family of all ages.
